EABA initially received excellent reviews, and was described as "an overlooked and underappreciated Titan in the arena of universal RPG systems". Critics praised the simplicity and ease of use, and the ability for players to choose what level of realism to include. Initial criticism focused on the lack of many additional premade settings and the bland artwork. It did not sell incredibly well, and is relatively unknown among RPG fans. WebMay 19, 2024 · Stuff! expands the weapon creation to include whatever you want to make for EABA. - Vehicle combat is probably the best I've seen in a strict rpg; not quite as good as Star Warriors or the old FASA Star Trek combat simulator, but those were hex-based wargames. Beats any system I've seen in any version of Traveller for sure.

My bias is for systems that are holistic (everything ties together), just use 6 sided dice, the use of building points to create characters/things, the metric system for measurement, is somewhat realistic but can handle most anything. EABA has all that packed in 380 pages.
